Jordan launched a professional career in writing in the early 2000s as a freelance journalist. With a love of writing and storytelling that goes back as far as she can remember, she parlayed this into analyzing and exploring the very things that make us human: our feelings, our bodies, and our minds. With a talent for analyzing research and complex topics and digesting them for a lay audience, Jordan has brought her journalism skills to bear on analyzing and breaking down writing craft technique, producing six books on the craft of writing, for Writer's Digest Books and BeijaFlor Books. Some of the things that make great stories are also the elements that make us better humans.
Jordan earned a BA in Liberal Studies and Communications in 1997, graduating summa cum laud, from Sonoma State University. She then earned her MFA in creative writing and literature from Bennington College in 2005.
