Karen has 33 years of professional experience in the fields of library science and education. She worked for 12 years as a medical librarian at West Penn, St. Francis, and Jameson Memorial hospitals, responsible for all aspects of library management, research, and reference. As an educator, Karen taught French and Spanish in a western Pennsylvania school district for 21 years.
Karen earned a Master of Library Science with a concentration in medical librarianship from the University of Pittsburgh. In her undergraduate work at the university, she earned a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in French Language and Literature and Spanish Language and Culture. Karen also attended Slippery Rock University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Education.
