Leonard Holmes, PhD, is a former writer for Verywell Mind covering mental health. A pioneer in the online therapy field, Leonard was the founding member of the International Society for Mental Health Online. 

Leonard has worked as a clinical psychologist for the Department of Veteran Affairs for more than 28 years, working primarily with chronic pain patients. During that time, he also had a private practice in Virginia. Leonard served as a member of the American Psychological Society, American Association of Spinal Cord Injury Psychologists and Social Workers, and the American Psychological Association. He is listed in Marquis "Who's Who in America" 2006 edition.


Leonard Holmes did his undergraduate work at the University of Virginia, and received his Master of Science and PhD in clinical psychology from Florida State University.
